I walk that fine line
Between blasphemy and curious mind
My faith is wearing I feel myself slipping
I’m doing every thing I can to keep from quitting
Tears falling from my eyes
The wetness on my face let’s me know I’m alive
Otherwise from this pain I would have sworn I’d die
God have you forgotten me
Or is it I that has forgotten thee

Many of my readers wonder if I ever experience happy thoughts. To stop the wondering I will explain why most of the writings that I post seem to be from a sad soul. The first collection of my poetry that I want to release will be in a book called Help Wanted,  therefore the poems are all rather somber in essence or show a longing for more. The second volume that I will release shall be called The Brighter Side.  This book will contain “happy” poems of a sort and show  a different side of me .  Please join me on the journey,  subscribe to the site!

The Mountain Top

The Mountain Top
During my climb to the top of the mountain
I took a drink from a reality fountain
I thought it would quench my thirst
When instead it made it worse
Now I can see
Lost only if I want to be
All this time climbing blind
Searching for something that if I didn’t already have I would never find

A Fond Farewell

A Fond Farewell

Dear Vegas,

I rather tell you now than later

failure is inevitable if a MANDALAY

caught up in a MIRAGE tricks you play

I see I have to go in order to WYNN

I hope to find my own TREASURE ISLAND

and return with the GOLDEN NUGGET in my PALMS

my vision is blurred by THE SANDS storm

hope it won’t last long

I have an ENCORE to perform

my story shall be pulled from this CITY CENTER

like EXCALIBUR from the HARDROCK center

but I’m happy to have met you Vegas on my chase of the dream

A Fond Farewell,

  your friend from ORLEAN’s

“I Have A Dream”

I wanted to do something different for this post. I wanted to write something using a photograph as my muse. I took a trip to Washington D.C. earlier this year and took this photo with my phone. I snapped the photo as I reached the top step at the Lincoln monument as I looked out at the reflection pool. I loved this photo for some strange reason. Maybe it’s due to the fact that it is a horrible photo of one the most beautiful and  memorable speeches of all time. Maybe it’s that the only clear words in the photo are “I have a dream.” What ever the reason it has inspired me!

I have a dream that I can not and will not let die

A dream that even after death I will survive

I may never give that great speech

But I will live every day as a great me

My LIFE will be my LEGACY

I have a dream!

My Everyday

My Everyday

A new day begins
as soon as yesterday ends
he wakes to put on his tailor made suit
and wingtip shoes
tightening up his silk tie
feeling choked but by the fact that he is living a lie
a tortured man hidden behind his smile
drifting through the dreams of his inner-child
Silly dreams
why does he even remember these things
he use to say it happily…
This is what I will be when I grow up
The silly ambition that now makes him  want to throw up
His  Ipad is ever so lightly playing
A song by Sam Cooke that talks of change
his new found dream
to get away from his everyday by any means

Write My Tears

Write My Tears

I push tears through these nouns, adjectives, and verbs
Hear me cry as you read these words
Do not worry on the page is where I leave my pain

Every word I write
Comes from a moment in my life
Writing is my sun in the rain

Real tears
Never conquered any fears
Nor did they ever ease the pain of another

If what I write
Touches even one life
Then my tears I dare not smother
